Does any of this sound familiar?

  • "I know exactly what I want to do... but my body just won't let me do it."

  • "It's like something takes over when I'm standing over the ball."

  • "I can hit the shot perfectly in practice, then freeze when it matters."

  • "It feels like there's a wall stopping me."

  • "As soon as I get over the ball, I think, 'Oh no... not again.'"

  • "The harder I try, the worse it gets."

  • "I've changed my technique, practised for hours and watched every YouTube video... but nothing seems to last."

  • "I don't trust myself anymore."

  • "I'm scared of that shot before I even get there."

  • "I know I can play better than this, but I can't seem to access it when it counts."

If you're nodding your head, you're not alone.

The problem probably isn't your skill or your technique. It's that your brain and body have learned an automatic response under pressure.

Why this happens

Most golfers start by changing their technique or equipment..

They change their grip.

They change their putter.

They practise for hours.

They watch YouTube videos.

They work harder than ever.

But if everything is fine on the practice green but disappears on the course, the issue probably isn't your technique.

It's what happens when your brain starts to associate that shot fear, embarrassment or failure.

Instead of trusting the movement you've performed thousands of times before, your subconscious mind steps in to protect you. Your attention narrows, your muscles tighten,  you start overthinking, your timing changes and a movement that was once automatic suddenly feels awkward, forced or even impossible.

That's why so many golfers describe it as:

"My body just won't let me do it."

"It's like something takes over."

"I freeze."

"There's a wall stopping me."

Then, the harder you try to force the shot, the more your brain learns that this situation is something to worry about, creating a cycle that's difficult to break through with practice alone.

How the Beat the Yips Treatment Can Help You

Using a combination of mental performance tools, EFT and hypnosis, we'll work to change the subconscious patterns keeping you stuck in this cycle.

Bob: Single-figure golfer with putting yips

"When you have the yips you sometimes try to blank it out so your mind will forget about it, but that doesn't work. Since tapping I had my best round for a long while and I won the comp."

Trevor: Handicap: 5, Yips for 5-6 years

"For the first time in a long time I had zero yips."

Ken: Handicap 2, Yips for 6-7 years

"Lord have mercy!  I'm 2 under par.."

What is the Beat The Yips Treatment Programme?

The Beat the Yips Treatment is a personalised programme designed to address the underlying mental triggers and blocks contributing to the yips.

Using a combination of performance psychology, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), hypnosis and practical mental performance strategies, the programme is tailored to your individual experience of the yips.

Whether you're struggling with the putting yips, chipping yips, full swing yips or a wider loss of confidence in your game, the aim is to help you reduce the interference that's preventing you from trusting your natural ability.

The goal isn't just to improve one shot, it's to help you play with greater freedom, confidence and enjoyment, so you can get back to playing the golf you know you're capable of.

What's included?

Initial Performance Assessment – Understand your experience of the yips, identify the patterns keeping it going and create a personalised plan.

Progress Review – Regular reviews to measure improvements, identify what's working and adapt the programme as your confidence returns.

Experience Game Changing Results

During the 1:1 sessions we may discuss the emotional triggers to the yips which can feel uncomfortable to begin with.  This is perfectly normal and gets easier over time.

This is why the programme gets particularly good, long lasting results as you address things you wouldn't normally get to address in a golf lesson.
